Fees and FAQs

I believe that clarity around fees is an important part of creating a safe and transparent therapeutic relationship. Below you will find details of my fees for individual and couples therapy, payment options, and answers to common questions.

Individual Therapy Fees

My fees for individual therapy are:

  • €100 for the first introductory 50-minute session.

  • €100 for subsequent sessions.

  • €120 for stand-alone one-off sessions to be paid in advance.

Payments can be made by bank transfer and must include the addition of 2 euro "marca da bollo" that I provide and that is added to the total.

All payments are invoiced and may be deducted as a health expense through the Italian Revenue Agency, subject to current regulations.

Couples Therapy Fees

My fees for couples therapy are:

  • €500 for the initial assessment phase (first four sessions)

  • €150 for each subsequent joint 75-minute session

Payments can be made by bank transfer.

All payments are invoiced on a monthly basis and may be deducted as a health expense through the Italian Revenue Agency, subject to current regulations.

Online therapy requests will require advanced payment for the first session.

What does the couples therapy assessment phase involve?

Couples therapy begins with an initial assessment phase, which usually takes place over approximately three weeks. This process allows me to understand your relationship, each person’s individual history, and the goals you have for therapy.

The assessment phase includes:

1st session: Joint 75-minute session
We will explore your relationship, the difficulties you are currently facing, and your hopes and goals for couples counselling.

2nd & 3rd sessions: Individual 50-minute sessions
I will meet with each partner individually to gather more detailed information about your personal history and experiences.

4th session: Joint 75-minute session
I will share my assessment with you and we will discuss possible therapeutic goals and the direction of our work together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

This depends on your insurance provider. I recommend contacting your provider directly to ask whether psychotherapy sessions are covered and what documentation may be required.

Can we meet first before I decide if I want to start therapy?

Yes, you can book an initial introductory session (see fees above), where we can discuss your needs, what you are hoping to gain from therapy, and any questions you may have about the process.

After this session, you can take the time you need to decide whether you think it's a good fit and if you would like to begin therapy.

How do I know if psychotherapy is right for me?

People seek therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma, personal growth, or simply a desire to better understand themselves.

An initial session gives us an opportunity to explore what brings you to therapy and whether we might be a good fit to work together.

How often do we meet?

The frequency of sessions depends on your needs, goals, and circumstances. Individual therapy is generally most effective when sessions take place regularly on a weekly basis, and we can discuss what approach feels most appropriate for you.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some people come to therapy to work through a specific concern, while others choose longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and ongoing personal development.

Is what I share in therapy confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of psychotherapy. What you share during sessions is kept private, except in specific circumstances where there is a serious concern about safety or where disclosure is required by law.

We can discuss confidentiality in more detail during our first meeting.

What if I can’t afford your fees?

I understand that private therapy is not financially accessible for everyone. If the cost of therapy feels beyond your current means, please consider exploring local or international charities that offer free or reduced-cost therapy or sliding scale clinics in your area.

Depending on where you are living, you may also be able to access psychotherapy through your National Health Service. Your GP or local health service can provide further information about available options.

How do I arrange an appointment?

You can contact me to arrange an initial session or to ask any questions before deciding whether therapy is right for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
